Offering The Skilled, Attentive Representation You Deserve

Protecting Your Interests During Property Division

Determining a fair and equitable property distribution is not as simple as liquidating assets and splitting the cash value down the middle. Some people choose to save marital assets, such as the family home, and want to continue living there, but if one person gets the house, how can we determine what is fair?

I work with clients everyday helping them achieve customized solutions to property distribution matters throughout Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. My law firm, the office of Stacy Albelais, Attorney at Law, is known for delivering results with a focus on integrity, personalization and the highest caliber of knowledge and skill in family law. Whether you are looking to negotiate an agreement between you and your spouse or need to stand up for your best interests in court, I have the skill to get the job done.

Property Distribution Attorney For Riverside, Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga And Surrounding Areas

California is a community property state, meaning property acquired during a marriage is subject to equitable division. Property outside of the marriage may be classified as personal property for a single individual and not eligible for division. This applies to debts incurred inside and outside of a marriage as well.

Disagreements regarding property division typically involve disputes about how property should be classified (as community or separate property). Furthermore, different parties may have different goals for the property. One person may want to sell the home, but the other may want to keep it.

My goal is to make sure these different needs are addressed in divorce proceedings. Achieving favorable results can sometimes involve litigation, where we are aggressive and persistent in working to win, but in many cases the best opportunity for getting what a client wants involves negotiation.

I have a sophisticated level of skill in both of these areas, helping my clients voice their concerns and work through issues with a focus on what is truly most likely to achieve the most favorable outcome possible.
